The three things that ruin a moving day
The van that never turns up
Boxes stacked by the door, the landlord waiting for the keys, and a phone that rings out. Every hour you wait costs you the day.
The price that grows on the day
A cheap quote on the phone, then extra charges for stairs, for the sofa, for the drive. You find out when you are too tired to argue.
The wardrobe that will not go
One mover, a narrow Regency staircase and a wardrobe that weighs more than both of you. Something gets scraped, something gets dropped.
We built Brighton Moving Company around fixing those three. Clear hourly prices on this page, a quote in writing before you book, and a tail lift on the van so the heavy things go up on a platform instead of up your back.

Moving in Brighton: quick answers
How much does a moving company cost in Brighton?
Brighton Moving Company charges £75 an hour for a driver with a Luton van, and £90 an hour for two movers with a Luton van and tail lift. Use the price calculator for a rough total for your move, then we confirm your quote in writing before you book.
Do I need a driver only or two movers?
Choose driver only for a few items or a small load where you can help carry. Choose two movers for anything with stairs, or for beds, sofas, wardrobes and white goods, so nobody is left straining at one end of a heavy load.
What is a tail lift and why does it matter?
A tail lift is a powered platform on the back of the van that raises heavy items from the pavement to the van floor. Fridges, washing machines and pianos go up on the platform instead of being dragged up a ramp.
What areas do you cover?
We move people anywhere within 75 miles of Brighton, from Hove and Worthing to Eastbourne, Crawley, Guildford, Portsmouth and London. See the full areas list.
Do I need a parking suspension to move house in Brighton?
If either address has controlled parking bays, a suspension keeps a space clear for the van. Brighton & Hove City Council says it needs 7 full working days' notice for a standard suspension, applications must arrive by 2pm, it cannot suspend yellow lines or unrestricted streets, and it does not suspend bays on bank holidays. The council also states an urgent suspension outside that notice period may be possible for an extra £20.
